PRESCOT TOWN LIGHTS UP FOR CHRSITMAS
Prescot Town Team and Prescot Town Council are teaming up with one lucky winner from the Town Centre’s Colouring Competition to switch on the 2013 Christmas lights with the Mayor himself on 30th November.
The countdown to the most magical time of year will take place at Prescot Town Centre, Eccleston Street, from 3pm to 5.30pm.
This year’s event will see numerous attractions for all the family to enjoy, such as donkey rides, face painting and Santa’s Christmas Grotto. A Music Road Show and performances from local choirs, is also on the cards.
Karen Maloney, Chair of Prescott Town Team, says: “The Town Team is delighted to be organising another Christmas event for Prescot. The event last year was a huge success and we’re hoping to emulate that again this year by increasing footfall into the Town Centre and encouraging the community to support their high street.”
Shadi Shadlou, Prescot Shopping Centre’s Marketing Manager, says: “The Christmas light switch on is a perfect way of bringing the community together to begin the Christmas countdown. As the nights get longer and winter really begins to settle in, it can feel a little gloomy, so it’s great to get a bit of Christmas cheer to brighten the days up. I would advise anyone wanting to visit Santa’s Grotto to arrive early to avoid disappointment.”
